Fellow Waterskiers:

The Pomona Lake Ski Club (PLSC) would like to extend an invitation to each of you to join the PLSC. We have a truly exciting year planned.

Now in it’s 13th year the PLSC has had a dream realized! This summer we will make our home in our new 4,000 sq. ft. facility located just 50 yards south of our slalom and jump course! The Pineridge building has a 45x60’ great room with fireplace, a full kitchen, men’s and women’s rooms complete with showers. An outdoor patio with huge barbecue grill and fire pit make a great place to spend an evening. It’s just a short walk from the patio to our dock now located at the east end of the slalom course. This new facility will allow us to have a permanent meeting and gathering place for the many activities. Overnight camping is allowed on the grounds of Pineridge.

PLSC will host the following events for the next year. The annual Ski Show will be July 4th weekend. The Pomona Lake Classic will be held in the beginning of September. This tournament is geared to the novice to intermediate skier and is a great learning experience as well as a lot of fun.

One of the things our club is most know for and very proud of is our Junior Development program (JD). Weekly, club members meet and teach out children water-skiing under very safe conditions. Every thing from beginning skiing to advance slalom and barefooting is taught.

Weekly we will have as many as 7 boats and up to 40 children practicing various types of skiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, jumping and barefooting.

For the adults we offer our very popular "adult night" . This is a leave the kids home event. We gather as a group and have fun skiing , swimming and laughing together. Some of these get– togethers last into the night.

If you’re as interested in waterskiing as we are and want to get involved, you’ll find an application for membership on the back . Club dues are currently $45. per year family membership and $35 per year individual. Regardless of your skill level, if you are interested in having fun and skiing with the group, we are the club on the move.

We hope to see each of you at our new clubhouse or on the water this summer ……….. Have fun!!

Facilities

The PLSC has many facilities to make days on Pomona Lake even more fun. Our Slalom Course and Jump are located on the southwest end of Pomona Lake. Installed in the early 90’s this was a beginning, a place for skiers to meet. Last year we purchased a dock and installed in on the east end of our slalom course. This dock gives up a place to tie up and an easy way to get to our new Clubhouse. The Pineridge facility is second to none. With a long term lease from the Army Corps of Engineers, we now have a 4,000 sq. ft. home! Pineridge has been a great meeting place, or just a place to get out of the sun and fix a sandwich. Complete with a full kitchen, men's and women's showers, this is our home away from home.

Junior Development

One of the things our club is most know for is our Junior Development program (JD). Meeting weekly through the summer we teach our children to ski. From beginners to national competitors the club has the full range. Each week we have approximately 20 – 40 children. We divide into boats – each boat having a specialty. Barefoot, slalom, Wakeboard, jump. All children have the ability to learn what they want. Our club members are schooled in first aid, boater safety and driving safety. Your children will learn quickly and enjoy our nationally know JD program!!!

Show Ski

Annually our club produces a ski show. The group starts practicing together in the gym getting the hang of putting up pyramids. We start water practice in May and have a lot of fun trying different things. Mass barefooting – pyramids, around the boats and many other crowd pleasers.

Adult Night

The very popular adult night. This is a leave the kids home evening. It is a great stress release for the big people. We ski - barefoot – play around until dark. We generally meet near the dock , talk, tell stories and hang out well into the night.

Jump Night

New this past year– we need on regularly scheduled nights and Jump – attempt to jump and just have a blast. Done under safe conditions jumping can be a lot of fun. If you have never jumped before this is the only way to learn.

Tournaments

The Pomona Lake Classic features – Slalom – trick, jump, kneeboard slalom and wakeboard competition. This tournament is also geared to the beginner.
